Introduction of Beijing Private Junyi High School
Junyi Star Education Group was founded by Ms. Duan Junyi, who was born in a family well-known for education. She is the great-granddaughter of Duan Qirui, who acted as the Premier of the Republic of China ( 1912-1949 ), and told his descendants in his “Eight Don’ts” will that, he hoped they engaged in education, health care and other social welfare work, rather than the military, political and similar jobs. In response to China’s call for developing private education, Beijing Private Junyi High school was therefore founded in October 1993 upon approval from Beijing Municipal Education Commission. It is full boarding high school and one of the earliest private schools in Beijing, with an education background recognized by the state. Thanks to the unremitting efforts of two generations, the Primary School Department, Junior Middle School Department and the Overseas Study Department were added to the original High School by Ms. Chen Yuanyuan, who is the daughter of Duan Junyi and corporate principal and the Chairman of the Group. Upholding the schooling philosophy of “behaving yourself first and then going for learning”, the Group’s International Department was officially established in 2005 and it was officially declared as the Beijing Campus of Sterns American High School in 2015. Set in the Junyi High School campus, the Group’s International Department has so far helped over a hundred students to be enrolled by elite American universities.
Initially founded in 1982 and grew based on the efforts of nearly a decade, Beijing Private Junyi High School ( referred to as “Junyi High School” ) was officially founded in Beijing upon approval from Beijing Municipal Education Commission ( JJXZ <1993> No. 11 ) in October 1993, under China’s call of developing private education.
Junyi High School is a full boarding high school and one of the earliest private high school in Beijing, with an education background recognized by the state. After 10 years of exploration, Junyi High School has made constant progress, and became an experiment base for mental health for the Beijing Institute of Science and Education and is a member of the Beijing Municipal UNESCO Clubs Association.

Environment and Facilities
The school is located at the junction of Xingye street and Xiang Yuan Road on the south side of the five ring road in Daxing District in Beijing. It covers an area of 8,357 m2 and the school building area is more than 3,588 m2.
The school has a spacious teaching building. In addition to 15 teaching classes, there are also computer, science, music and other special classrooms in the teaching building.
The school has dormitories for boarding students.
The playground covers over 3,600 m2, ensuring that students exercise at least one hour a day.
In the past two years, the school has invested heavily in hardware construction. All classrooms have installed large screen touch TV to achieve integrated and networked teaching.
Advanced Teaching System
In line with the idea of quality and individualized education, Junyi adopts full boarding and closed-off management. The school hires professional instructors to carry out paramilitary training to hone students’ will. In order to guarantee high-standard teaching innovation and research, Junyi Star Education Research Center was established to study advanced teaching methods, employ famous educational experts, introduce advanced teaching equipment and machines from home and abroad and build excellent teachers team.
- Art Education
As early as 2005, Junyi developed art education for college entrance examination boldly at the basis of art interest groups. Excellent art teachers and selected students formed college entrance examination art classes. The school invested two art studios and invited professional art teachers from Central Academy of Fine Arts. In art classes, teaching focuses on key points of college entrance examination to make sure all students could pass the professional art exam through unique teaching methods. Professional courses not only include Sketch, Color and Design and also art appreciation classes and lectures of external experts.
- Media Education
A professional teacher team from Communication University of China is in charge of courses and teaching of the school’s media major. Courses of media major include Broadcasting and Hosting, Directing, Photography, Acting, etc.
Many media universities are partner colleges of Junyi, including Communication University of China and CUC, Nanjing. In the past years, the pass rate of Junyi’s students in media professional test of college entrance examination maintains at 100%.
- Basketball Education
Beijing Junyi Star Basketball School is an important component of Junyi High School. Senior national coaches manage training and take students to participate all kinds of competitions in Beijing which give students more opportunities to win titles of national athletes and recognition from colleges and universities. The basketball school has sent a lot of students enter to general universities or professional sport universities as student athletes. Junyi Star Basketball School conveys potential student athletes to universities and professional basketball clubs every year.
- Smarter Classroom
Smarter Classroom is equipped by the most advanced teaching equipment like computers for teachers, iPads for students, multimedia system, short focus projector, physical prompting machine, etc.
Smarter Classroom integrates “student based” teaching idea with a set of high-tech teaching equipment, mobile network and cloud data perfectly in junior and senior middle school teaching, which improves the quality of teaching and studying in all-round way and makes students learn independently, happily and efficiently through modern communication equipment.
Teaching equipment in Smarter Classroom has four major teaching functions: interactive teaching, timely evaluation of learning situation, accurate diagnosis of learning problems and timely remediation of learning weakness.
- East and West Education and Training Center
The center was established in 1999 based on it’s predecessor Beijing Yiwen Culture Cram School. The cram school has devoted to vocation and technical training since 1983 to bring up technical talents for the country at the beginning of Reform and Opening Up. Adhering to ides of Yiwen Culture Cram Shcool, East and West Education and Training Center develops all kinds of training activities to make up shortages and limits of school education and diploma education. By taking the end as the start, the center has become the cradle of talent hatching and will work hard to create more developing opportunities for students.
The center has an independent professional English training program — AmeriCanic, which provides students pure American language environment and American teaching idea. All teachers are from the United States.
